Release Notes
These notes contain any last minute information that were not all included in the help system. We recommend reading these notes prior to running this version of WinGate. You should also read over the changes history to learn about any new features, improvements and bug fixes addressed in this version (this information is also available in the readme.txt file shipped with this release of WinGate.)
i. Simultaneous Logins
A policy has been added to control who can logon to WinGate from more than one client computer at a time. This feature is useful in order to prevent users from sharing their account details with others. As with all WinGate policies, it is customizable to allow any combination of users or groups.
ii. Automatic Detection of a New Dial-up Connection
WinGate Engine can now automatically detect when a new dial-up connection has been added to your services. If this new connection is not configured for use with WinGate Dialer Profile , WinGate offers to guide users through this process.
iii. New Features in GateKeeper
Registry Back-up: this option
has been added to GateKeeper's advanced options to allow easy back up of Registry.
Configuration Report: this
option has been added to GateKeeper's advanced options. It displays troubleshooting
information which can be saved to a text file.
View in the Activity Pane: The display of sessions - as they occur -,
can now be ordered either by computer or by type of service.
iv. Improved Navigation of the Menus in GateKeeper
Two menu items, options/confirmation menu and syslog options have been moved GateKeeper Options/Advanced drop-down menu box for improved navigation within the GateKeeper screen.
